Functional classification and performance in wheelchair basketball

Wheelchair basketball players are classified into four classes based on the International Basketball Federation competition system. The aim of this study was to investigate whether IWBF functional classification for wheelchair related different performance field-based tests. Forty athletes took part in study. carried out five field tests, three which were quantitative, conditional skills (strength, endurance and speed test) two qualitative type (accuracy shooting ability tests). Pearson's correlation performed analyse between score obtained from results class not correlated (p <0.05) with any tests performed. Players even major injuries, their best set-up, achieved better times than upper-class players; therefore, disability factor these is an index that determines disadvantage. shows does affect qualitative-quantitative performance, so disabled athlete a lower disadvantaged basketball.
